A pattern repeats. A vibration travels. Something begins to return. Elusive brings together two distinctive choreographic voicesโ Panzetti/Ticconi (Italy/Germany) and Art Project BORA (South Korea)โin new creations made with the dance artists of T.H.E Dance Company. Each work unfolds from a precise line of inquiry, revealing different ways the body can hold memory, sensation, and time. Following their 2024 collaboration with the company, Panzetti/Ticconi return with ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, inspired by the mechanics of the music box. Meticulous patterns revolve and gather force as cycles slip and falterโwhat happens when what reassures begins to destabilise? In ๐:๐ณ๐ฐ, Art Project BORA creates with T.H.Eโs main company for the first time. Mourning travels through bodies as vibrationโfelt, heard, and borne. Sensations once lost begin to stir again. Elusive is presented by T.H.E Dance Company as part of contยทact Dance Festival in collaboration with Esplanade โ Theatres on the Bay. The event is also included in the Asia-Europe Cultural Festival 2026 โ Closing Curtain, organised by Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF). Choreography: Ginevra Panzetti & Enrico Ticconi in collaboration with the performers Music Composition & Sound Design: Demetrio Castellucci Lighting Design: Adrian Tan Costume Design: Angeline Oei Performers: Fiona Thng, Klievert Jon Mendoza, Chang En, Carmelita Nuelle Buay, Michail Logothetis Alafragkis, Priscilla Chan ๐:๐ณ๐ฐ Choreography: Kim Bora in collaboration with the performers Stager: Park Sangmi Rehearsal Assistant & Archivist: Choi Soyoung Music Composition & Sound Design: Cheo Uzong Lighting Design: Adrian Tan Costume Design: Kim Eunkyung Performers: Fiona Thng, Klievert Jon Mendoza, Chang En, Carmelita Nuelle Buay, Michail Logothetis Alafragkis Producer (Art Project BORA): Lee Mijin Artistic Consultant: Jang Hyejin Sound Engineer: Lee Dongjune
T.H.E Dance Company (Singapore)
The Human Expression (T.H.E) Dance Company was founded in 2008 by Artistic Director Kuik Swee Boon. Rooted firmly in Singapore yet universal in its perspective, T.H.E's contemporary dance works reveal the body as a medium for exploring and celebrating the human condition.
Dance artists at T.H.E are immersed in the company's signature methodology, HollowBody, which guides them to access their deeper instincts and impulses through movement. The company's movement vocabulary is distinct in its intensely personal aesthetics, yet thrilling in its diversity. Driven by a sincere desire to uncover the intricate, complex and oft-times overlooked dimensions of human existence, the company's incisive observations on the human condition and its original creations are an essential mirror to the issues and rhythms of contemporary life.
As one of Singapore's seminal contemporary dance companies, T.H.E has performed and toured at many major and prestigious festivals in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, India, France, Italy, Poland, Denmark, Latvia, United Arab Emirates, Australia, and New Zealand.
Based on its vision of contemporary dance as a medium for nurturing human potential, T.H.E has also actively initiated numerous platforms to engage young artists and the wider public. Since it was founded, the company also started its semi-professional wing, T.H.E Second Company, which identifies and mentors dance artists who aspire to reach a professional standard of contemporary dance. In 2010, T.H.E also founded the contยทact Dance Festivalโthe country's first annual contemporary dance festival to showcase local and international artists. The company also regularly runs public classes, workshops, and customised programmes for schools and the community.
Kim Bora from Art Project BORA (South Korea)
Kim Bora is interested in discovering the concept of time in dance through the exploration of the body. Her main interests include various forms and experimental practices of choreography.
She continues her work by focusing on the non-verbal aspects with the intertwining of dance and the physical body which possess unique characteristics that are neither question nor answer. She is particularly interested in post-humanism and feminism in dance, and is currently the Artistic Director of Art Project BORA. Her main works include A Long Talk to Oneself, Tail Language, Somoo, Muak, and Hauntology. Her works with the Korea National Contemporary Dance Company include Dot. (2021), dance film Trace of Time (2021), and her research Synchronous Senses (2022โ2023).
Panzetti/Ticconi (Italy/Germany)
Working between Berlin and Torino since 2008, Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi create choreographic works that interlace dance, performance and visual art. Their practice examines the historical entanglement of communication, violence and power, often drawing on ancient symbols and collective imaginaries to construct striking stage images that oscillate between past and present.
They gained international recognition with Harleking (2018), presented at major platforms and festivals including Aerowaves Twenty19, the New Italian Dance Platform and Tanzplattform Deutschland 2020. Their research into the symbolic power of the flag developed into a diptych of choreographic works, AeReA (2019) and ARA! ARA! (2021), followed by the film Silver Veiled (2021). Together, these works investigate the aesthetics of authority and the emotional charge embedded in collective emblems.
Their projects have received significant international support and accolades, including Premio Hermeฬs Danza Triennale Milano and a commission from Dublin Dance Festival. Shown widely across Europe and beyond, their works are recognised for their rigorous visual language, sculptural precision and sustained inquiry into the political and poetic dimensions of the body on stage.
