Ground & Flow: Floorwork Explorations — Class by Ng Zu You

This class unlocks the expressive potential of floorwork, inviting participants to explore movement at ground level. Beginning with fundamental patterns like crawling, rolling, and sliding, participants will discover how to move with fluidity and precision across the floor. Through progressive exercises, participants will learn to harness their body weight, transitioning seamlessly between each movement.

About the Artist:

Trained in contemporary, ballet, and Chinese dance, Zu You was a dance artist with T.H.E Dance Company from 2017 to 2022, where he honed his craft through the company’s distinctive HollowBody methodology. With a deep fascination for movement vocabularies that seamlessly blend strength, functionality, fluidity, and grace, Zu You is committed to exploring the interplay between physicality and artistry. In his classes, he strives to cultivate a mindful approach to movement, emphasising intentionality and awareness, ensuring that each motion is both purposeful and impactful. Through his teaching, Zu You aims to inspire dancers to move with clarity, precision, and a profound connection to their bodies.
